📈 Trending News
1.The Lightning Network is coming for legacy payment providers
The Scoop🕵️♂️: Las Vegas, May 29, 2025 - BTC Inc and BTC Media LLC, the leading provider of Bitcoin-related news and the organizer of the world’s largest Bitcoin conference, announced they had set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the “Most Bitcoin Point of Sale Transactions in 8 hours” at The Bitcoin Conference 2025. Over an eight-hour timeframe on May 28, over 4187 transactions were recorded.
Why You Should Care🚨: This demonstrates the capability that the Bitcoin Lightning Network has to replace our antiquated existing payment systems. Move over Visa and Mastercard, you’re about to get hit by a lightning bolt.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: More growth and more adoption by the mainstream.
2. Nothing Stops this Train
The Scoop🕵️♂️: Lyn Alden who popularised the saying "Nothing Stops This Train", a metaphor to describe the U.S.'s unstoppable fiscal deficits, which originated from Breaking Bad’s Walter White, gave an impactful talk at the Bitcoin Conference. She noted a recent decoupling of low unemployment and high federal deficits, indicating a new fiscal era. Historically, gold prices and real interest rates were correlated, but this has changed, suggesting a shift in the economic landscape.
Why You Should Care🚨: High fiscal deficits can lead to increased government borrowing, driving up interest rates and reducing the dollar's value. This benefits scarce assets like gold and Bitcoin as investors seek to exit fiat currencies. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for informed investment decisions and navigating the crumbling economic landscape.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: Bitcoin thrives in an environment of high fiscal deficits and currency debasement. Its fixed supply and decentralised nature make it a hedge against inflation and currency devaluation. Alden's analysis shows that Bitcoin is well-positioned to benefit from long-term trends driven by unsustainable fiscal policies. To the moon!

🎧 & 🎥 Vibe of the Week - Ross Ulbricht
Ross was imprisoned for life for creating a website, The Silk Road, think Ebay where you pay with bitcoin. Even though there was no evidence that anyone was harmed due to purchases on that site, Ross was imprisoned for life on May 29th 2015. He was pardoned by President Trump as part of a campaign promise on January 21st 2025. A powerful talk about the importance of freedom. It’s a profound speech. Very profound.
Meme of the Week - Shitcoins and JPEGs
There were a few rumbles of dissatisfaction about the amount of “crypto” at this year’s conference. So we thought we’d share this meme we found. On point.
