Tribe Vibe - The Panopticon Edition
Hello Tribe Vibers!
NOW is the perfect time to recognize just how essential Bitcoin has become. As the fiat monetary system collapses under the weight of its own corruption, the parasitic cabal is intent on building its digital panopticon to protect themselves from the inevitable pitch forks that are about to come out. This week we look at the disturbing roll-out of digital ID across the West, mimicking China’s social credit digital prison. On the Access Tribe podcast we talk to
about how you can be self-sovereign and firmly but peacefully say “no”.🇬🇧 Side note: if you are a UK citizen or resident, you can sign the petition against Digital ID HERE.

🎓 Bitcoin 101: “Don’t Trust, Verify”
You will frequently hear this phrase used by Bitcoiners, but what does it mean? The Bitcoin network is “trustless”. This does not mean that you cannot trust it, but rather that you do not need third-party verification to trust it.

1. Total Surveillance, Censorship, And Behavior Control Are Real Goals Of Digital ID Advocates
The Scoop🕵️♂️: Michael Shellenberger says the UK’s push for digital IDs – framed as security – actually tightens control, much like China’s social‑credit system forces people into self‑censorship. If digital IDs become mandatory, Bitcoin could end up both a lifeline and a target.
Why You Should Care🚨: Linking our social‑media, health and financial data wipes out privacy and lets governments watch, silence, or limit us based on what we do or say.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: Bitcoin’s decentralization, pseudonymity, and resistance to censorship stand opposite today’s identity‑driven monetary system. As surveillance expands, individuals and businesses may turn to Bitcoin to safeguard their financial freedom. If digital IDs become gatekeepers for social services, authorities could block access to digital assets that are tied to people’s verifiable identities.

HERE.2. You won’t be able to work without a Digital ID in the UK - Lessons from Israel
The Scoop🕵️♂️: Israel began building a biometric and digital ID system in 2008, passing the Biometric Database Law in 2009. By 2017, smart IDs and digital birth and death certificates became mandatory. After the October 7, 2023 attacks, the government tightened ID enforcement and started collecting tourists’ biometric data. A proposed 2025 law would expand facial‑recognition and fingerprint collection indefinitely, without consent.
Why You Should Care🚨: From privacy invasions and surveillance creep to strained alliances, legal violations, and impacts on health care, jobs, travel, and other services, Israelis have plenty to worry about.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: The overarching mandate of biometric data via digital IDs will most likely tighten KYC rules, making it easier for authorities to reveal people’s identities. On the flip side, there will be greater demand for privacy tools for ordinary citizens to use, and strengthen Bitcoin’s legitimacy against expanding government surveillance.

HERE.3. Google Admits censorship for political reasons under the Biden Admin
The Scoop🕵️♂️: Children’s Health Defense and several conservative groups have sued Alphabet and the Biden administration, alleging senior officials repeatedly pressured Google/YouTube to censor COVID‑19 and election‑related content. In a congressional letter, Alphabet admitted the pressure, called it “unacceptable and wrong,” and pledged to reinstate the accounts that were removed under the now‑scrapped rules.
Why You Should Care🚨: If a judge decides that the government’s pushy behaviour counts as “state action,” it might change the rules for how federal officials can lean on private companies to control what’s on their platforms. This whole situation highlights the tug-of-war between what companies want to do with their content and what the government tries to make them do.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: If the courts side with the plaintiffs, it strengthens First‑Amendment protections for Bitcoin‑related speech, forces platforms to rely on their own policies instead of political whims, and could make the online environment a bit safer for anyone talking about or promoting bitcoin.
