About the Book
Set in Brooklyn, New York, the novel chronicles the lives of the Mandible family between 2029 and 2047 as they navigate the catastrophic collapse of the American economy. The story portrays a slow, creeping descent into austerity and censorship that suddenly accelerates, plunging the nation and the Mandible Family along with it, into a desperate struggle for survival.
The cast of characters are funny, believable and relatable.

About the Author
Lionel Shriver’s novels include the New York Times bestseller The Post-Birthday World and the international bestseller We Need to Talk About Kevin, which won the 2005 Orange Prize and has now sold over a million copies worldwide.
