🎓 Bitcoin 101: What Is Money, Really?
Most of us carry, earn and worry about money without ever asking the simplest, most subversive question: what is it? Bitcoiner and educator Deanna Heikkinen has just launched the Money Wisdom Project, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching children, women and communities about the history and nature of money. In her inaugural article, Deanna traces the word “money” back to Juno Moneta, the Roman goddess of warning and counsel, walks readers through Aristotle, Kautilya, Adam Smith, Carl Menger and Mises, and lands on the point that matters most: money is a technology of trust. When the trust breaks down, the money breaks down. And when the money breaks down, the people at the bottom feel it first.
This is the foundation every bitcoiner needs. If you can’t explain what money is, you can’t fully see the matrix we are living inside.

📈 Trending News
1. “Do you remember who you were before the algorithm?” - A Lily Bit
The Scoop🕵️♂️: A Lily Bit argues the “one-world control grid” is no longer coming. It is being built, on three legs: programmable money, social credit, and AI surveillance. The defining mechanism is no longer crude censorship but “freedom of speech, with no freedom of reach.” Say what you like. The algorithm decides who hears you. Underneath sits a debt-based money system that abolished recessions, replaced them with money printing, and split society cleanly into asset holders and everyone else.
Why You Should Care🚨: Her central idea is capture. Every rebellion gets domesticated through the same on-ramp: incorporate, raise venture money, take on debt, list, surrender. The survivors refused the funding, held their own assets in self-custody, and built audiences that paid them directly. Politics is a trap for the sincere; the real lever is money. Where you hold it. What you spend it on. How much of yourself you remove from the plumbing.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: Lily never types the word “Bitcoin,” but the essay reads like a long argument for why it exists. An asset you actually hold, that no one can inflate away or switch off, that needs no platform and no permission, is the tool she describes as the path from subordination to sovereignty. Her “third door,” exit in place, is the Bitcoin thesis spoken by someone who arrived from the other direction. Player or product? Self-custody is the answer Lily doesn’t quite say.

2. Is Elon Musk the Richest Man in History? - James Lavish
The Scoop🕵️♂️: James Lavish takes apart the headline that crowned Elon Musk the first trillionaire in history. The number was not counted, it was calculated. SpaceX listed Friday, the last share traded set a price, and that price was multiplied across every one of Musk’s 4.8 billion shares. He sat there and watched it happen. And most of it, he cannot spend without destroying it.
Why You Should Care🚨: The largest paper fortune ever printed survives on one condition: that he never tries to turn it into cash. The ultra-rich do not sell. They borrow against their shares tax-free, then let dollar debasement quietly melt the debt while the asset climbs. Buy, borrow, die. It is the same machine running underneath every fixed-rate mortgage you have ever held.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: Lavish lays the engine bare in plain English. Every fortune at the top is short the dollar and long a scarce real asset. That is the whole game. Bitcoin is the same play, available to anyone: a scarce real asset you can hold yourself, without a banker’s margin call hovering overhead, and without the mark-to-market simulation that turns a brokerage screen into “wealth.”

3. The Fed is Working on a Central Bank Digital Currency - The Rage
The Scoop🕵️♂️: Donald Trump signed an executive order in January 2025 banning the development of a CBDC. The Federal Reserve has quietly kept building one anyway. The Bank for International Settlements has now confirmed that the New York Fed is an active participant in Project Agorá, a “tokenisation” scheme for cross-border payments using central bank reserves. The Rage’s Nicholas Anthony walks through the design and concludes that the distinction between a wholesale CBDC and “tokenised reserves” is razor-thin.
Why You Should Care🚨: This is the playbook. Public outrage kills the explicit thing, so the central banks rename it and keep going. “CBDC” has become politically radioactive, so the same architecture is now sold as a “technical upgrade” to interbank settlement. Programmable money. Cross-border surveillance rails. Permission and denial baked into the protocol. Exactly what the executive order was meant to prevent, dressed up in friendlier language.
What does this mean for bitcoin?✨: Every CBDC story is a bitcoin story in negative space. The endgame at the top is a monetary system you cannot exit. The only credible exit is an asset that needs no permission, no bank, and no central ledger to function. Bitcoin is not a hedge against this future. It is the alternative future.

👩💼 Women in Bitcoin
This week we shine the spotlight on Halana Mediavilla, the award-winning filmmaker behind Dirty Coin, the landmark 2023 documentary that took bitcoiners and skeptics alike on a tour of bitcoin mining from the deserts of Texas to the hydro plants of Malawi to the icy fields of Finland. Halana is back with a new project: a feature-length documentary on node runners, the unsung sovereigns who keep bitcoin’s network decentralised one verified block at a time.
While the world is busy watching trillionaire headlines and CBDC announcements, node runners quietly do the most important job in the entire system. Refuse to trust. Verify everything. Enforce the consensus rules from their kitchens, garages and basements. It is exactly the kind of grassroots, distributed power Tribers should be amplifying.
The project is now live on Geyser, bitcoin’s answer to Kickstarter. Halana is crowdfunding it the way it should be funded: in sats, directly from the community it is being made for.

🎧 🎥📚 Vibe of the Week
This week’s vibe is Shawn Ryan Show #253: Psyops, Real MKUltra Documents, and Simulation Theory with Chase Hughes, a former U.S. Navy Chief turned behavioural scientist who studies human influence and manipulation through his Applied Behavior Research practice.
In three hours, Chase walks Shawn through how modern psyops actually work (the path from idea → ideology → identity), the hypnotic engineering of social media algorithms, the declassified history of MKUltra and the CIA’s Manchurian Candidate program, and the chilling experiments showing how authority can override personal morals in under 45 minutes. The closing third is the one that hits hardest for this edition. Chase turns to consciousness and simulation theory, the “code-like” grids and geometric patterns reported by people on psychedelics including DMT, and the radical possibility that the brain is not the source of consciousness but a receiver of it. He closes by recommending Jean Baudrillard’s Simulacra and Simulation, the very book the Wachowskis read while writing The Matrix.
A perfect closing meditation for The Matrix Edition.
